Member Expectations

  • Attend two meetings a year:  one annual meeting in February and one business meeting in the Summer.  Each Meeting is approximately 1.5 hours in length

  • Appoint an executive Liaison to help facilitate the goals of the Chapter.  The Liaison should have decision making authority, have direct line of communication to the Chapter Member, and willing to be the American Cancer Society's main point of contact when engaging your company

Role of the Executive Liaison

While we know each company has varying philanthropic pillars that may not directly focus on all aspects of the American Cancer Society’s work from a cancer lens, the liaison is the person we would communicate with or who would help facilitate opportunities like:

  • Employer health initiatives (i.e. tracking cancer screening rates) or activities (i.e. Fit2BeCancerFree).

  • Employee volunteerism and event engagement.

  • Workplace giving.

  • Corporate funding support (i.e. distinguished events or Hope Lodge).

  • Identifying those who wish to connect with ACS to become more involved (i.e. young professionals joining councils as ACS Champions in the community or doing individual fundraising, etc.).

  • Acting as an additional communication link between the American Cancer Society and your CEO and supporting the ACS relationship as your company leadership directs.

  • Serving as an alternative decision-maker on behalf of your CEO and/or company.
