An evening of cooking, connection, and compassion demonstrates the power of corporate leadership in action. Leadership isn't just about what happens in the boardroom. Sometimes, it's about what happens in the kitchen.

Last night, senior leaders from Edward Jones, joined by a member of the St. Louis CEOs Against Cancer Chapter, traded their business attire for aprons and spent the evening preparing and serving a home-cooked meal for guests staying at the World Wide Technology American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in St. Louis.

For individuals undergoing cancer treatment, the journey often involves traveling far from home, navigating unfamiliar surroundings, and managing the emotional and financial challenges of a cancer diagnosis. Hope Lodge provides a welcoming home away from home, offering complimentary lodging and a supportive community so guests can focus on what matters most: healing. And sometimes, something as simple as a warm meal can make a meaningful difference.

Where Corporate Leadership Meets Community Impact

Edward Jones has a strong tradition of community involvement, and evenings like this demonstrate how business leaders can turn their commitment to service into meaningful action.

Through their time in the kitchen, these executives did more than prepare dinner. They helped create an evening of comfort, connection, and normalcy for individuals and families facing some of life's most difficult moments.

Their involvement also reflects the spirit of the St. Louis CEOs Against Cancer Chapter, a network of business leaders who leverage their influence, relationships, and resources to advance the American Cancer Society's mission.

For 15 years, the Chapter has demonstrated that when business leaders unite around a common purpose, their collective impact can extend far beyond their companies.

A Home Away From Home

The World Wide Technology American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in St. Louis provides thousands of nights of complimentary lodging annually to cancer patients and their caregivers.

In 2025 alone, the facility provided more than 24,000 nights of lodging to over 1,500 guests, helping families avoid an estimated $2.3 million in hotel expenses.

But the true impact of Hope Lodge extends beyond the numbers. It is found in the friendships formed around the dinner table, the comfort of a shared meal, and the reassurance that no one has to face cancer alone.

Serving a Purpose Greater Than Ourselves

The American Cancer Society is grateful to the Edward Jones leaders who gave their time, energy, and compassion to make the evening special for Hope Lodge guests.

Their service is a reminder that the most meaningful measure of leadership isn't simply the success we achieve, but the difference we make in the lives of others.

Thank you, Edward Jones, for demonstrating what it means to lead with purpose and serve with heart. Together, we are bringing hope home.
